Couchey and Marsannay-la-Côte Wildfire Risk: Should I Travel?
A forest fire above the wine village of Couchey, south of Dijon, burned through the Combe Vaulon from the afternoon of 29 July. The préfecture said the fire was fixed on the evening of 30 July, a flare-up on 2 August was brought under control the same afternoon, and a prefectural order still keeps the public out of the burnt ground.

- Check locally: Préfecture: le feu est désormais fixé. Fixed, meaning the fire is no longer spreading. The préfecture said it was contained but not yet fixed on the morning of 30 July and fixed at 17h06 that evening. A flare-up on the afternoon of 2 August was described as very quickly brought under control. (as of 2026-08-02)
- Still closed: Public banned from the fire zone above Couchey. After the flare-up on 2 August the préfecture issued an order closing the burnt area to the public, to guard against the fire restarting. No lifting date has been published. (as of 2026-08-02)
- Advice in force: No reopening notice for the D122 at Couchey or the M122 at Marsannay-la-Côte. Gendarmes blocked the accesses into Couchey on 29 July, including the D122 and the M122 through Marsannay-la-Côte on the Route des Grands Crus. - Advice in force: All eight Côte-d'Or forest massifs at severe fire risk since 26 July.
