Cookies and what is stored in your browser
Last updated 5 August 2026.
The short version: this site sets no tracking cookies of its own, and the analytics we use are cookieless. The only cookies that could appear are Google's advertising cookies, and only if you consent to them.
What is actually stored
| What | Who | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| efm-s | This site | A random ID held in your browser's session storage so a page view is not counted twice. It is not a cookie, is never sent to an advertiser, and cannot identify you. | Until you close the tab |
| TelemetryDeck | TelemetryDeck | Counts page views. Cookieless by design — no identifier is stored and you cannot be followed across sites. | Nothing stored |
| Security cookies | Cloudflare | The site runs on Cloudflare, which may set a short-lived cookie to tell real visitors from bots and keep the site up. Strictly necessary; no advertising use. | Under 24 hours |
| Advertising cookies | If you consent, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve, measure and cap the ads on this site. If you do not consent, ads are served without them. | Up to 2 years |
There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no advertising network other than Google.
Your choices
If you are in the UK or the EEA you will be asked, the first time you visit, whether you consent to advertising cookies. You can say no and the site works exactly the same — the ads are simply less targeted. You can change your mind at any time:
If that button is not showing, the consent tool has not loaded — usually because you are outside the UK and EEA, or an ad blocker has blocked it. You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, which resets the choice.
